What do you think about music industry and filesharing/internet as a promotion tool?

I think it’s great for upcoming musicians and artists to promote themselves over the internet because it allows so much more freedom and sincerity. Also this way it’s the listeners or the viewers who get the final say on what is good and what is not, and not the record companies who decide what you should be listening to.
