[BadPanda018] Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles – Brick City Love Song
UPDATE (20/6/11): Download the album here.
Riding Alone For Thousands Of Miles are an immensely talented outfit from New Jersey, who make tense instrumental rock in the vein of Godspeed You! Black Emperor. The 10-piece band’s name is taken from a Chinese/Japanese movie released in 2005 and their demo album from 2008, A Boldogság Minden Reményét Elragadták (from hungarian, “All The Hope Of Happiness Has Been Stolen”) is one of the best kept secret among the post-rock lovers.
The band has no website and is virtually faceless on the internet (except for their last.fm page) and Brick City Love Song is a new track that anticipate their debut album (to be released in spring 2011).

We recorded this song to 8-track in our now abandoned rehearsal space in Newark NJ. Mike was fighting his illness and could not be there. One month later he passed away. We dedicate this song to Michael, please rest in peace.
Many thanks to Rita Finol for letting us use her Photography.

Not just on last.fm anymore. Stereomood has them listed under their “feel like crying” tab. An extremely empowering and humbling song. It’s humility in a smooth post rock waltz.

This is definitely the best instrumental song I have heard, believe me, I have heard a lot, but this one is something that can’t be described.

This song is one of the most amazing pieces I’ve ever heard. Very therapeutic and relaxing. RAFTOM is now one of my favorite bands.
