[BadPanda090] Green Like July – Two cover songs by Green Like July
We are really happy to announce the beginning of the partnership with cool italian indie label Ghost Records (Calibro 35, Dente, Canadians, Buzz Aldrin, etc) that will bring more surprises in the future. Today we’re glad to introduce Green Like July.
They formed in 2003 in Alessandria, north of Italy, though they own more of a classic American-folk sound. The band consist of vocalist / guitarist Andrea Poggio, bassist Nicola Crivelli and drummer Paolo Merlini.
“Four-Legged Fortune” is Green Like July’s second album and it was recorded in Omaha (Nebraska) at the well-known ARC Studios (which hosted artists like Bright Eyes, Pete Yorn, Julian Casablancas, Cursive), the album was produced by A.J Mogis (Saddle Creek) and many local artists related to the Saddle-Creek family, including Jake Bellows (Neva Dinova) and Mike Mogis (Bright Eyes, Monsters Of Folk), gave their personal contributions to the album.
Their new EP includes two classics songs of John Lennon and Big Star. The artwork was made by Olimpia Zagnoli, who also curated Four-Legged Fortune album cover and the video for “A Better Man” (which debuted on The New Yorker).
